A SECURED TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM, PATHWAY TO NATIONAL UN

Abstract

The activities and infrastructure that support the movement of
people and products are collectively referred to as transportation
systems. These systems can be generically divided into modes like
as air, water, rail, and road, each of which has its own fleet of
vehicles, routes, and operating procedures. The act of robbing and
plundering by gangs or outlaws, frequently accompanied by
threats of violence, is referred to as banditry. It includes a variety
of illegal actions, such as robberies, kidnappings, and other
violent crimes. Banditry and kidnapping have a strong connection
to the economic crisis, however terrorism is rather different
because it is founded on ideology. Stabilizing the economy and
giving citizens' education first priority are essential for a cohesive
nation. Thus, the significance of a safe transportation system for
Nigerian unity was examined in this study.
The study's population is Nigeria, which consists of 36 states, with
Abuja, Lagos, and Enugu chosen as significant cities from three
notable zones in Nigeria. The study used basic data collection
methods, with a total of 300 questionnaires conducted. The survey
found that a bigger percentage of the selected respondents prefer
not to travel to Abuja by road due to the high rate of insecurity,
which has a direct impact on the economy and national unity.
The study indicated that a safe and secure transportation
infrastructure facilitates regional relationships and promotes
unity as the adjusted R2 revealed 77% of relationship between the
predictors' variables and the dependent variable. This means that,
77% of dependent variables are accounted for or caused by the
independent variables.
The research advises that the government address the economic
underprivileged by closing the enormous gap between the rich and
the poor, as well as develop a working strategy for expanding
citizen education.
